There’s always a moment before an event begins when doubt quietly creeps in. At this particular evening in the Ulster Museum, Belfast, back in 2024, that moment lingered a little longer than usual.
The setting itself was nothing short of spectacular — an iconic venue, steeped in history, with an atmosphere that naturally elevates any occasion. But as we finished setting up our casino tables in front of one of the Dinosaur skeletons, one concern kept circling in my mind: location. Our tables were positioned a fair distance from where guests would be dining, and I couldn’t help but wonder… would they make the journey over? Would they fully experience what we had brought?
When you care deeply about delivering value — real, memorable fun — these things matter.

It reminded me of the famous line from Field of Dreams, starring Kevin Costner: “If you build it, they will come.” It’s a simple idea.
Create something special, something inviting, and people will naturally be drawn to it.
Still, in the real world of events, it’s not always that straightforward… or so I thought.

As the evening unfolded, something brilliant happened.
Guests began to find us — at first a trickle, then a steady flow. The sound of laughter, chips stacking, roulette wheels spinning… it built and built until the casino area became a real focal point of the night. The distance that had worried me so much? It became irrelevant. In fact, it almost added to the experience — a sense of discovery, a destination within the event.

The energy was exactly what you hope for. People weren’t just playing; they were engaging, connecting, and creating those moments that make an event truly memorable.

Looking back, that initial concern feels almost misplaced. The truth is, when something is done well — when it looks the part, feels exciting, and is delivered with genuine enthusiasm — people are naturally drawn to it. Just like in the film, the concept held true.
And what makes this event even more special for us is that it was the very first time we worked with this particular client.
