During the wedding reception, magician Rodd Hogg spent time entertaining guests with close-up magic, creating moments of surprise, laughter and conversation as family and friends relaxed and enjoyed the celebrations. A Surprise Casino for a Pro Poker Player

What made this booking particularly special from the start was the reason behind it.

Hannah had secretly organised a fun casino experience as a surprise for her new husband Gareth — who happens to be a professional poker player. With one roulette table, one blackjack table, and fun money rather than real stakes, everybody could enjoy the tables without any pressure.

It was a wonderfully personal touch that set the tone for the whole evening.

Comedy Hypnotist Followed by a Fun Casino

The evening began with comedy hypnotist Dale Thomas, who delivered a performance that had guests laughing from start to finish. We stayed to watch part of the show ourselves and can honestly say it was hilarious. Dale is not only a talented performer but a genuinely great person to work alongside.

One of the challenges with wedding entertainment is maintaining energy and momentum as the day progresses. After the excitement of the ceremony and photographs, it is natural for guests to need a lift going into the evening. When you have experienced entertainers involved, that lift happens naturally — and the atmosphere at Clandeboye Lodge that evening was brilliant from the moment Dale took to the floor.

One guest in particular, Jack, had his sights firmly set on winning both the blackjack and roulette competitions. His parents, however, had other ideas — and what followed was one of those wonderfully unpredictable moments that only happen at live events. Rather than cheering him on, they became his biggest rivals at the table, doing everything they could to make sure he didn’t claim the top spot. The playful family rivalry that followed became one of the highlights of the evening, with laughter and banter flowing freely around the tables.

In the end, Jake narrowly edged Jack into second place at the blackjack table, while Jack claimed victory on the roulette to make sure he didn’t leave empty-handed.

The casino ran right up until the first dance, at which point the DJ took over to keep the celebrations going late into the night. Before we packed away, our winners gathered around the tables for photographs to mark the occasion and celebrate their wins.
